So I've never blogged before...or really even read blogs. But I've been browsing and pinning on Pinterest and I'm now inspired.
(okay I wanted to put that clip here...but I couldn't find it. So here's a great Liz Lemon montage)
And that's my inspiration. I'm a young professional in a major metro area. I studied engineering in college and though I'd like to think of myself as a pretty good cook, that's the only Pinteresty skill that I have. I'm not particularly stylish, I just started teaching myself how to French braid, I'm totally messy and disorganized, and I was never one of those girls with cute and colorful crafts all over her dorm.
But today I'm starting. I'm going to become wonderful. This blog will chronicle my adventures in cooking, fashion, crafts and organization. Now that I'm a "grown-up", I'm hoping my life will start looking that way. I'm going to write about my inspirations and my experiments.
In terms of food, I'm a huge supporter of local, sustainable, and organic foods. For those of you who haven't ready Michael Pollan's The Omnivore's Dilemma or Barbara Kingsolver's Animal, Vegetable, Miracle, those are my guides and inspiration. I try to avoid processed foods and animals raised in CAFO's (Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations), though it can be hard (and expensive!).
So bear with me, I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm mostly doing this for myself but hopefully somebody out there will find some inspiration or entertainment. Thanks for reading!
